Rafael Argina went to the wrong direction when Dionisio Eriz was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. When Luzuriaga AFC's Juan Ruisko in the 13th minute got a chance for a shot 13th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Pendorcho Gomez's supporters stood up full of expectation in the 40th minute of the game, when Edgardo Fonso after an extraordinary solo performance found himself with a golden opportunity in front of Luzuriaga AFC's goal. Edgardo Fonso was unfortunally a little to anxious and the ball went outside the goal. Ramiro Mosen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rogelio Steven in the 43rd minute of play. Rafael Argina made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Dionisio Eriz sent off a good shot on target. Pendorcho Gomez's Roman Iruinea quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Natalio Moise, made in the 47th minute of the game. If Roman Iruinea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Juan Ruisko made the kick off in the second half. The referee ignored Luzuriaga AFC's protests and gave Godofredo Patxi a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Luzuriaga AFC's Godofredo Patxi got a free kick in the 62nd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Dionisio Eriz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pendorcho Gomez's supporters rose to their feet, but Dionisio Eriz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rafael Argina breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Edgardo Fonso during the 67th minute. There was no doubt that Pendorcho Gomez were the better team. Pendorcho Gomez's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
