The tension between the Tottenham and the Naranja players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Naranja booed when Tottenham was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Honorato Raitin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Casimiro Cordario came out of the goal in the 23rd minute to try and stop a shot by Naranja's Hugo Kimetz. But to his dismay, Hugo Kimetz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. With a little luck, Naranja's Silvano Chumo got control of the ball when Fidel Eli tried to sneak it across the goal line. 30 minutes into the match, Jaime Cordairo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Casimiro Cordario. Tottenham's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jaime Cordairo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Tottenham's Casimiro Cordario played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Alberto Motta in the 35th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fidel Eli got free with Silvano Chumo in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 39th minute, Teofilo Natal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 48th minute, Julio Ubelteso got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jaime Cordairo couldn't finish the play. The shot was stopped by Casimiro Cordario but with some difficulty. Naranja succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Tottenham had controlled the match.
