With a couple of smart ball manuevers Abelardo Rocio in the 11th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gustavo Joanes saved Borbotones from getting behind. Abelardo Rocio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Abelardo Rocio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Universitarios Tucuman's Paolo Cresenciano got a free kick in the 26th minute. Gustavo Joanes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abelardo Rocio in the 28th minute of the match. When Abelardo Rocio came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Universitarios Tucuman fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Abelardo Rocio couldn't finish the play. Gustavo Joanes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abelardo Rocio, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. In the 46th minute, Universitarios Tucuman's Paolo Cresenciano seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Paolo Cresenciano the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Universitarios Tucuman protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Paolo Cresenciano had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 48 minutes in the game Miguel Martino got a great opportunity which he missed by shooting outside the goal. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Freddy Vidal made the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute Freddy Vidal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Herminio Gilesindo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Salvador Valente charged in rather forcefully in the 59th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Salvador Valente the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Universitarios Tucuman's Salvador Valente got a free kick in the 59th minute. 60 minutes into the match, Universitarios Tucuman's goal looked a bit too open when Leonides Iratxo came free, but Herminio Gilesindo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Universitarios Tucuman's Esteve Gau got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 67 minutes, Abelardo Rocio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Universitarios Tucuman's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abelardo Rocio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Leonides Iratxo might have been able to make a better finish in the 73rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Herminio Gilesindo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Leonides Iratxo ran back to his position shaking his head. If Freddy Vidal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 83 minutes, Leonides Iratxo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Borbotones's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leonides Iratxo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Universitarios Tucuman's Herminio Gilesindo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leonides Iratxo in the 91st minute of play. Borbotones's Gustavo Joanes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 93rd minute of the match, managed to save Borbotones from getting a goal against them. Herminio Gilesindo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Freddy Vidal in the 95th minute of the match. The Universitarios Tucuman players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Borbotones from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
