Paolo Macario came out and tried to block the shot, but Apolo Erruki slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 16th minute. Paolo Macario showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Apolo Erruki in the 20th minute of the match. 23 minutes into the game, Jose Walme was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tute's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Libertad FC the free kick. Jose Walme kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Paolo Macario made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Apolo Erruki in the 25th minute of play. A collision led to Tute getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Gustavo Sol hit a great ball. With a little luck, Tute's Paolo Macario got control of the ball when Robustiano Emesto tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 37th minute, Libertad FC's Apolo Erruki ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Paolo Macario. Paolo Macario yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. In the 40th minute, Augusto Gar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee felt a red card was in order, 42 minutes into the game, when Francisco Rencio put in a rough tackle. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 41st minute of the game. One of Tute:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Libertad FC:s goal. The goalkeeper, Paolo Macario, was totally fooled by Libertad FC's Teo Gaizkine, who 43 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

Paolo Macario showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Robustiano Emesto, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. In the 54th minute Robustiano Emesto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paolo Macario saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tute's Paolo Macario played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Damaso Bieito in the 64th minute of play. In the 67th match minute, Tute was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ciriaco Udalaitz to maneuver through the defense. In the 69th minute Apolo Erruki shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paolo Macario saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Libertad FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
