SAETA BRUÑIDA's Albino Olayo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernando Todor in the 21st minute of play. Maximiliano Henry might have been able to make a better finish in the 44th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Horacio Cordarrell. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Maximiliano Henry ran back to his position shaking his head. The crowd rose to their feet as SAETA BRUÑIDA's Ovidio Guillen slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Horacio Cordarrell. That made the score 1-0 after 46 minutes of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Fernando Todor to strike the kick off in the second half. Horacio Cordarrell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maximiliano Henry, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. In the 56th minute, Ovidio Guillen ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Horacio Cordarrell was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. After some careless play in the Deportivo Merlo defense, Maximiliano Henry kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Horacio Cordarrell. The Deportivo Merlo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Horacio Cordarrell should have stopped the shot. Horacio Cordarrell showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maximiliano Henry in the 66th minute of the match. Maximiliano Henry recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Horacio Cordarrell took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristo Domiku, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Emil Tzaribrodski hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Ariel Mannuel charged in rather forcefully in the 88th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ariel Mannuel the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Maximiliano Henry sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
