Luis Luis charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. After 22 minutes, Candido Nazario mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Deportivo Uruguayo and the C.A Newcastle players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee gave C.A Newcastle a penalty, 24 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Mariano Rey, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Deportivo Uruguayo's Rosendo Frederico. 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicasio Nataniel in the 34th minute of play forced Deportivo Uruguayo's goalkeeper Rosendo Frederico to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 37 minutes into the match, George Bucur dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Lázaro Geofredo, 1-1. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Justino Mambru made a kick off. George Bucur blasted a shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lázaro Geofredo having to make a save. A collision led to Deportivo Uruguayo getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Luis Luis hit a great ball. After some careless play in the Deportivo Uruguayo defense, Nicasio Nataniel kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rosendo Frederico. The Deportivo Uruguayo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rosendo Frederico should have stopped the shot. Deportivo Uruguayo's Eleuterio Urtzi was substituted for George Bucur. In the 62nd minute, Nicasio Nataniel left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The C.A Newcastle fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. Filiberto Teodor took the ball and in the 66 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lázaro Geofredo. Lázaro Geofredo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-3. Lázaro Geofredo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Filiberto Teodor, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. In the 73rd minute Justino Mambru shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rosendo Frederico saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 75 minutes into the match, C.A Newcastle's goal looked a bit too open when Filiberto Teodor came free, but Lázaro Geofredo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, C.A Newcastle's Romeo Oidor got a free kick in the 76th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Emilio Etxeberri got free with Rosendo Frederico in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Nemesio Edur's late challenge caught a Deportivo Uruguayo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nemesio Edur helped the player get up and apologised. Nemesio Edur hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Filiberto Teodor in the 87th minute of play forced C.A Newcastle's goalkeeper Lázaro Geofredo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rosendo Frederico was out of position in the 90 minute of play, and Justino Mambru capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Justino Mambru really showed his touch with that goal: 2-4. When the match was over C.A Newcastle could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Deportivo Uruguayo throughout the match.
