The referee ignored BORO2000's protests and gave Laureano Piarres a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Santa Rosa F. C. booed when BORO2000 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Laureano Piarres didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to BORO2000 getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Jonathan Orixe hit a great ball. Laureano Piarres was shown his second yellow card after 29 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. The supporters of Santa Rosa F. C. booed when BORO2000 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Laureano Piarres didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jonathan Orixe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Tord Lönn's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alonzo Richie read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tord Lönn got free with Alonzo Richie in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Feliberto Mattin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cleto Abeijon having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jonathan Orixe was the one to do the kick off. 53 minutes into the game, Anselmo Ireno was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. BORO2000's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Santa Rosa F. C. the free kick. After 53 played minutes BORO2000 got a freekick which was hit by Anselmo Ireno. Jonathan Orixe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Cleto Abeijon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alonzo Richie took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tord Lönn, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cleto Abeijon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jonathan Orixe in the 71st minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ahmed Rimitti during the 72nd minute. C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. After a defensive mix-up in BORO2000's zone, Tord Lönn stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alonzo Richie came out of the goal and Tord Lönn tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 87th minute Jonathan Orixe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cleto Abeijon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The BORO2000 supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing BORO2000 would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
