The audience was convinced that Dario Handi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cristo Gaspard was relentless in the 5th minute of the game. Santos Loco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 20th match minute, Lecueder AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eloy Iruinea to maneuver through the defense. A hard shot by Iker Aires from long distance, 21 minutes into the match, got Leon Cisco's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. The supporters of Chapechú booed when Lecueder AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amado Gar didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Santos Loco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 47th minute, Apolo Tebaldo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Leon Cisco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Santos Loco in the 97th minute of play. Chapechú's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
