Prudencio Lawrence was extremely unlucky when he, in the 3rd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. In the 4th match minute, Malvinas FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Erasmo Celio to maneuver through the defense. If Lucas Dolfos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aaron Torres made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Prudencio Lawrence in the 16th minute of play. Icaño were awarded a corner in the 17th minute after Malvinas FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Domingo Balasi took the corner. Horacio Sugoi scored 0-1 in the 21st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Christian Fliz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 23rd minute Horacio Sugoi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christian Fliz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lucas Dolfos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 28 minutes, Moises Basualdo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Malvinas FC and the Icaño players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Malvinas FC getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Moises Basualdo hit a great ball. Lucas Dolfos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Aaron Torres tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 35 minutes, Horacio Sugoi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Malvinas FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Horacio Sugoi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 38 minutes into the game, Guillermo Quintana was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Malvinas FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Icaño the free kick. A collision led to Malvinas FC getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Guillermo Quintana hit a great ball. Aaron Torres showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Prudencio Lawrence, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. With a little luck, Malvinas FC's Aaron Torres got control of the ball when Lucas Dolfos tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some careless play in the Icaño defense, Horacio Sugoi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Christian Fliz. The Icaño fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Christian Fliz should have stopped the shot.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Guillermo Quintana made a kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Icaño's zone, Horacio Sugoi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Christian Fliz came out of the goal and Horacio Sugoi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lucas Dolfos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aaron Torres having to interfere. In the 68th minute, Lucas Dolfos made a precise shot to the right of Aaron Torres. Malvinas FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. 73 minutes into the match, Horacio Sugoi notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Icaño's Christian Fliz. Christian Fliz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 77th minute the ball was on its way in behind Malvinas FC's goalkeeper Aaron Torres, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Guillermo Quintana in the 86th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Christian Fliz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Horacio Sugoi came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Malvinas FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Horacio Sugoi couldn't finish the play. Guillermo Quintana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Icaño's Christian Fliz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erasmo Celio in the 96th minute of play. Malvinas FC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
