After 9 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Los Galacticos FC! If Pastor Montay had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mercedes's Ciro Frasquito proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Mercedes from getting a goal against them. Luis Weterio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mateo Remir showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Weterio, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Mateo Remir didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Luis Weterio went, in the 26th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Mateo Remir came out of the goal in the 28th minute to try and stop a shot by Mercedes's Zeledon Frances. But to his dismay, Zeledon Frances quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. In the 31st minute, Emiliano Elixio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ladislao Jacob could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Ciro Frasquito made a huge save. Mateo Remir showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zeledon Frances, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. When Pastor Montay fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Los Galacticos FC's protests and gave Pastor Montay a yellow card for diving instead. Pastor Montay hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zeledon Frances in the 47th minute of play forced Los Galacticos FC's goalkeeper Mateo Remir to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Los Galacticos FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Mercedes were winning 0-3.

Mercedes's Luis Weterio got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Luis Weterio's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mateo Remir read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. Zeledon Frances's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 65thth minute, Mateo Remir skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Zeledon Frances fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mateo Remir having to interfere. Zeledon Frances in the 80thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Mateo Remir, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Los Galacticos FC's Mateo Remir played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luis Weterio in the 83rd minute of play. After 88 played minutes Mercedes got a freekick which was hit by Emiliano Elixio. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Luis Weterio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mercedes's supporters rose to their feet, but Luis Weterio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mateo Remir breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
