The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Leonides Timo made the kick off in the second half. When Domingos Fresco fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Estudiantes LP's protests and gave Domingos Fresco a yellow card for diving instead. Domingos Fresco hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Leonides Timo in the 62nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ramon Distiratsu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Pablo Cordeara's late challenge caught a Estudiantes LP's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pablo Cordeara helped the player get up and apologised. Pablo Cordeara hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Estudiantes LP's Alvaro Matteo got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 79th match minute, Mazarredo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pablo Cordeara to maneuver through the defense.
