The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the match, Leonides Bortzaioriz notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Los Piratas's Amancio Acevedo. Amancio Acevedo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Leonides Bortzaioriz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Amancio Acevedo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. When Augusto Manilan came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Arribeños FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Augusto Manilan couldn't finish the play. Augusto Manilan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Amancio Acevedo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Leonides Bortzaioriz in the 21stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Amancio Acevedo, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Augusto Manilan in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Amancio Acevedo saved Los Piratas from getting behind. In the 25th minute the ball was on its way in behind Los Piratas's goalkeeper Amancio Acevedo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pastor Blanco in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ivan Ramirez saved Arribeños FC from getting behind. The supporters of Los Piratas booed when Arribeños FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adolfo Ihazintu didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 30th minute, Venancio Paz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ivan Ramirez was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. In the 35th minute, Augusto Manilan reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Amancio Acevedo. The goal made the score 2-1. After 43rd play minutes Augusto Manilan shot 3-1, a short shot which went by Amancio Acevedo and just under the crossbar into goal. Pastor Blanco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivan Ramirez having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Augusto Manilan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ivan Ramirez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pastor Blanco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Augusto Manilan in the 54th minute of play forced Los Piratas's goalkeeper Amancio Acevedo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 55th minute Leonides Bortzaioriz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amancio Acevedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Baltasar Gregory fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Los Piratas's protests and gave Baltasar Gregory a yellow card for diving instead. In the 68th minute, Pastor Blanco got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee felt a red card was in order, 81 minutes into the game, when Wilfredo Cesaro put in a rough tackle. 80 minutes into the game, one of Los Piratas:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When Leonides Bortzaioriz came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Arribeños FC fans jumped to their feet. Amancio Acevedo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benicio Goiz, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. After having played for 94 minutes, Baltasar Gregory managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Los Piratas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Baltasar Gregory was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fermin Guillelmus during the 100th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 99 minutes into the game, one of Los Piratas:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 102nd minute there was a penalty for Arribeños FC. Jacobo Remigio stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Amancio Acevedo. 5-1.
