Leandro Taurino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Samuel Ramirez, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. After the first half Vértiz FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Everardo Erlantz stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Javier Eyague fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vértiz FC's protests and gave Javier Eyague a yellow card for diving instead. After 53 played minutes Vértiz FC got a freekick which was hit by Javier Eyague. Lino Galo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eliseo Brun in the 55th minute of play. Eliseo Brun scored 1-1 in the 55th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lino Galo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eliseo Brun in the 85th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lino Galo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 87 minutes into the game, Hernan Tximitx was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Quijano AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vértiz FC the free kick. Samuel Ramirez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lino Galo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eliseo Brun, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Quijano AFC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
