The nice shot from Nicanor Jakes in the 11thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Anselmo Salvatore had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. In the 13th minute Ubaldo Iigo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Bernad saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Nicanor Jakes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club Atlético Sanford's supporters rose to their feet, but Nicanor Jakes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Anselmo Salvatore breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the match clock showed 17 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Andres Igon sped through Colón FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Anselmo Salvatore. Carlos Bernad showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tobias Leocadio in the 21st minute of the match. Club Atlético Sanford's Carlos Bernad played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ubaldo Iigo in the 27th minute of play. Carlos Bernad took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ubaldo Iigo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nicanor Jakes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Anselmo Salvatore made a huge save. After 33 played minutes Club Atlético Sanford got a freekick which was hit by Andres Igon. Anselmo Salvatore was out of position in the 38 minute of play, and Andres Igon capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Andres Igon really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ubaldo Iigo made a kick off. 59 minutes into the match, Club Atlético Sanford's goal looked a bit too open when Ubaldo Iigo came free, but Carlos Bernad reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Ubaldo Iigo kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Carlos Bernad. That made the score 2-1 in the 61 minute of play. Andres Igon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Andres Igon struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Anselmo Salvatore didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club Atlético Sanford. If Nicanor Jakes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 72 minutes into the match, Club Atlético Sanford's goal looked a bit too open when Ubaldo Iigo came free, but Carlos Bernad reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ubaldo Iigo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Club Atlético Sanford's Carlos Bernad got control of the ball when Tobias Leocadio tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 94 minutes, Erasmo Llope mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Club Atlético Sanford and the Colón FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Colón FC booed when Club Atlético Sanford was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erasmo Llope didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the referee ended the match the Club Atlético Sanford players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
