Garra Blanca's Jaime Cruz got a good chance for a goal in the 2nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Libertad AFC's Eloy Franco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jaime Cruz in the 5th minute of play. If Jaime Cruz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Generoso Caetano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Eloy Franco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 13th minute Generoso Caetano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eloy Franco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Libertad AFC getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Cayetano Iraitz hit a great ball. Generoso Caetano struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Eloy Franco didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Garra Blanca. If Jaime Cruz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Garra Blanca's Generoso Caetano got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 34 minutes into the game, Garra Blanca's Jaime Cruz nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Eloy Franco made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Eloy Franco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jaime Cruz in the 41st minute of play. After having played for 42 minutes, Generoso Caetano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Garra Blanca's supporters crossed their fingers, but Generoso Caetano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jaime Cruz in the 44th minute of play forced Libertad AFC's goalkeeper Eloy Franco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The wind increased when Jaime Cruz made the kick off in the second half. If Cayetano Iraitz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 58 minutes, Jaime Cruz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cayetano Iraitz couldn't finish the play. The Garra Blanca players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
