The supporters of Ibarlucea booed when Reserva was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lázaro Incendio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Amancio Iraido received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Victor Mikeldi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 27th minute, Albino Mundo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Godfredo Ofelio hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Albino Mundo might have been able to make a better finish in the 32nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Victor Mikeldi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Albino Mundo ran back to his position shaking his head. Amancio Iraido sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When Aldo Enaut fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Reserva's protests and gave Aldo Enaut a yellow card for diving instead. The audience was convinced that Amancio Iraido's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Victor Mikeldi was relentless in the 77th minute of the game. Gabriel Cucao sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
