The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Adrian Piarres fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Prospero Felipillo having to interfere. After 12 minutes, Alonzo Mendebal mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sarmiento FC and the Tehuelches Patagónicos players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 14th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sarmiento FC's goalkeeper Prospero Felipillo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Sarmiento FC booed when Tehuelches Patagónicos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dante Garaile didn't get a good kick on the ball. The corner led Sarmiento FC's Zacarias Gilen to fire away a dangerous shot which Abel Gai despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After 21 minutes, Aldo Vincent mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sarmiento FC and the Tehuelches Patagónicos players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 21st minute, Aldo Vincent hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Adrian Piarres in the 22nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Prospero Felipillo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 27 minutes into the match, Sarmiento FC's goal looked a bit too open when Siro Argina came free, but Prospero Felipillo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 28 minutes into the match, Sarmiento FC's Igor Beat sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Abel Gai narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Igor Beat had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Abel Gai stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Igor Beat's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. A hard shot 40 in the game by Aurelio Senon from a close distance when the talented Abel Gai managed to make a qualified save. Tehuelches Patagónicos's players were relieved. In the 43rd minute, one of Sarmiento FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Sarmiento FC. In the 46th minute there was a penalty for Tehuelches Patagónicos. Augusto Mendebal stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Prospero Felipillo. 0-1. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

54 minutes into the match, Tehuelches Patagónicos's goal looked a bit too open when Nunez Nalo came free, but Abel Gai reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Prospero Felipillo made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Adrian Piarres sent off a good shot on target. During the 59th minute of the match Aldo Vincent completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Aldo Vincent a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 60th minute, Aldo Vincent hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sarmiento FC's Aurelio Senon got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Igor Beat had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 66 played minutes Sarmiento FC got a freekick which was hit by Nunez Nalo. Siro Argina was extremely unlucky when he, in the 67th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Aurelio Senon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abel Gai having to interfere. Abel Gai showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aurelio Senon, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. Abel Gai showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aurelio Senon in the 77th minute of the match. In the 82nd minute, Aurelio Senon got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 84 minutes into the game, Igor Beat was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sarmiento FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tehuelches Patagónicos the free kick. After 85 played minutes Sarmiento FC got a freekick which was hit by Igor Beat. Siro Argina fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Prospero Felipillo having to interfere. After having played for 89 minutes, Siro Argina managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tehuelches Patagónicos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Siro Argina was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee felt a red card was in order, 95 minutes into the game, when Joaquin Cedro put in a rough tackle. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 94th minute of the game. One of Sarmiento FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Tehuelches Patagónicos:s goal. The referee gave Tehuelches Patagónicos a penalty, 97 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Augusto Mendebal, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Sarmiento FC's Prospero Felipillo. 0-2. The Tehuelches Patagónicos players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
