In the 8th minute, Carmelo Claude hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Gilberto Cucao came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Argentinos Jrs. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gilberto Cucao couldn't finish the play. Basilio Lauro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Albino Cordero, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 12th minute Edelmiro Mitxel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Basilio Lauro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Basilio Lauro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edelmiro Mitxel, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Albino Cordero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 23 minutes into the match, Argentinos Jrs.'s goal looked a bit too open when Albino Cordero came free, but Basilio Lauro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Albino Cordero managed to get in a good position for a shot. Manfredi AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Albino Cordero was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Basilio Lauro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Albino Cordero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gilberto Cucao was the one to do the kick off. In a very dangerous position, a player in Manfredi AFC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 56th minute. Penalty! In the 59th minute there was a penalty for Argentinos Jrs.. Hugo Tabor stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Ernesto Salvino. 2-0. Albino Cordero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Manfredi AFC defense, Gilberto Cucao kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ernesto Salvino. The Manfredi AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ernesto Salvino should have stopped the shot. Jacobo Mundo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Basilio Lauro having to interfere. After having played for 79 minutes, Melquiades Izel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Argentinos Jrs.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Melquiades Izel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 80th minute, Melquiades Izel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Albino Cordero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Basilio Lauro having to interfere. Melquiades Izel took the ball and in the 89 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ernesto Salvino. Ernesto Salvino dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. Ernesto Salvino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gilberto Cucao in the 98th minute of the match. Argentinos Jrs.'s fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
