Nicasio Dantae's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dalmacio Valente read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 32 minutes, Gogo Piarres put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Dalmacio Valente. In the 36th match minute, EL GOLPECITO FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Astor Checa to maneuver through the defense. Dalmacio Valente showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Faustino Telesforo in the 40th minute of the match. If Jeronimo Bidari had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Atheletic were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Serafino Otsoa stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Jeronimo Bidari had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lisandro Rios. Atheletic's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jeronimo Bidari was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Atheletic's Faustino Telesforo in the 55th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Dalmacio Valente was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for EL GOLPECITO FC through an amazing save. The supporters of EL GOLPECITO FC booed when Atheletic was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amancio Abalos didn't get a good kick on the ball. 58 minutes into the match, EL GOLPECITO FC's Astor Checa broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Rigoberto Manny hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Faustino Telesforo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 67th minute Faustino Telesforo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dalmacio Valente saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Isidro Dalmai kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Isidro Dalmai managed to get in a good position for a shot. EL GOLPECITO FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Isidro Dalmai was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lisandro Rios breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 85th match minute, EL GOLPECITO FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Astor Checa to maneuver through the defense. In the 86th minute, Everardo Oxarra sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and EL GOLPECITO FC's Dalmacio Valente didn't even have to move. In the 91st minute the ball was on its way in behind EL GOLPECITO FC's goalkeeper Dalmacio Valente, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 96th match minute, Atheletic was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gogo Piarres to maneuver through the defense. When EL GOLPECITO FC's Jeronimo Bidari in the 98th minute got a chance for a shot 98th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Atheletic's goalie prevented a goal.
