In the 40th minute the ball was on its way in behind Alpatacal's goalkeeper Eduardo Valentine, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Benedicto Ibar got his second yellow card in the match during the 43rd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Benedicto Ibar hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. San Jose Unidos were awarded a corner in the 46th minute after Alpatacal's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Zeledon Heriberto took the corner. San Jose Unidos's Zeledon Heriberto was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Eduardo Valentine in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in.
