With an all-out effort, San Jose Unidos's Siro Kemen threw himself towards the right post 7 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Adan Quentin, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 7 minutes into the match, Adan Quentin had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Siro Kemen. Sainuco AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Adan Quentin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Romulo Huly sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 16th minute, Alonzo Garoa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of San Jose Unidos booed when Sainuco AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raimundo Ado didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zeledon Heriberto's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Siro Kemen read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. Alonzo Garoa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to San Jose Unidos getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Elias Fiz hit a great ball. Gervasio Artizar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Romulo Huly in the 31st minute of the match. A hard shot by Paulo Naldo from long distance, 34 minutes into the match, got Siro Kemen's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 35th match minute, San Jose Unidos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zeledon Heriberto to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alonzo Garoa in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gervasio Artizar saved San Jose Unidos from getting behind. Alonzo Garoa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Gervasio Artizar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, San Jose Unidos's Elias Fiz got a free kick in the 45th minute. In the 46th minute, Jimeno Mergildo sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and San Jose Unidos's Gervasio Artizar didn't even have to move.

In the 52nd minute Romulo Huly shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gervasio Artizar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 55 played minutes, San Jose Unidos's Leo Claude shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Siro Kemen came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in San Jose Unidos reached it. Leo Claude's late challenge caught a Sainuco AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Leo Claude helped the player get up and apologised. In the 63rd minute, Leo Claude hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alonzo Garoa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Siro Kemen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adan Quentin in the 68th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in San Jose Unidos's zone, Alonzo Garoa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gervasio Artizar came out of the goal and Alonzo Garoa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 78th minute, San Jose Unidos's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Alonzo Garoa fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After 81 played minutes San Jose Unidos got a freekick which was hit by Ulises Berbiz. Siro Kemen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adan Quentin, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Siro Kemen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Igor Fortun, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of San Jose Unidos booed when Sainuco AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benito Giro didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Igor Fortun had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. For all the effort they put into the match, the Sainuco AFC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for San Jose Unidos.
