Dudignac's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Monroe the free kick. Hermengildo Hodei hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. Dudignac's Silvano Aritza got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Luisito Beremundo took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 10th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Eloy Luix. Monroe's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Martin Herrera sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Monroe's Eloy Luix played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Martin Herrera in the 17th minute of play. 19 minutes into the match, Monroe's Severino Jurdan sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Amadeo Aztore narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Martin Herrera struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Eloy Luix didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Dudignac. Eloy Luix came out of the goal and Martin Herrera tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Zeledon Seber sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 64 minutes of play, Monroe's Severino Jurdan made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Amadeo Aztore was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Severino Jurdan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Amadeo Aztore showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benicio Urtzi, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. If Martin Herrera had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Martin Herrera's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eloy Luix read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 77th minute of play. 80 minutes into the game, one of Dudignac:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Silvano Aritza helped the player get up and apologised. Martin Herrera received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 98th minute. Eloy Luix tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dudignac's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Monroe had won, even though Dudignac had held more of the ball.
