The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Gilberto Romelio the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Encina protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Gilberto Romelio had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in Encina fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 3rd minute. Penalty! The referee gave Moreno AFC a penalty, 5 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Esteban Quinteros, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Encina's Tiburcio Nuno. 1-0. Justo Nicholas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 15 minutes, Sergio Rico managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Encina's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sergio Rico was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Astor Lidon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The Moreno AFC fans' excitement grew in the 21st match minute when Moreno AFC's Astor Lidon looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Godfredo Ostargi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Rene Urritz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tiburcio Nuno took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Astor Lidon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Paolo Ferman charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Paolo Ferman the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Encina booed when Moreno AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paolo Ferman didn't get a good kick on the ball. Astor Lidon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Tiburcio Nuno tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 39 minutes into the game, Godfredo Ostargi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Encina's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Moreno AFC the free kick. In the 39th match minute, Encina was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Godfredo Ostargi to maneuver through the defense. In the 47th minute Astor Lidon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tiburcio Nuno saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
Roman Ferdinand hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Astor Lidon in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tiburcio Nuno prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience was convinced that Justo Nicholas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tiburcio Nuno was relentless in the 61st minute of the game. Rene Urritz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sergio Rico in the 62nd minute. In the 63rd match minute, Moreno AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Geronimo Checa to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Sergio Rico managed to get in a good position for a shot. Encina's supporters rose to their feet, but Sergio Rico was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rene Urritz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Encina's zone, Justo Nicholas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tiburcio Nuno came out of the goal and Justo Nicholas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 73 minutes into the match, Encina's goal looked a bit too open when Astor Lidon came free, but Tiburcio Nuno reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Justo Nicholas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rene Urritz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sergio Rico in the 91st minute. Sergio Rico fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rene Urritz having to interfere. Sergio Rico was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 95th minute. Encina's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 97th minute, Sergio Rico made a precise shot to the right of Rene Urritz. Moreno AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Moreno AFC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
