The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute, Ceferino Hori hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Generoso Gumaro in the 7th minute of play forced Tuizón's goalkeeper Joaquin Romelio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Blas Ikatz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Placido Weterio having to interfere. In the 13th minute Generoso Gumaro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joaquin Romelio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Blas Ikatz in the 19th minute of play forced C.A Independiente's goalkeeper Placido Weterio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fernando Salvadore during the 20th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Fernando Salvadore hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. If Fernando Salvadore had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fernando Salvadore received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Placido Weterio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Fernando Salvadore managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tuizón's supporters rose to their feet, but Fernando Salvadore was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Placido Weterio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 30 played minutes Tuizón got a freekick which was hit by Haroldo Ireno. Gervasio George sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Blas Ikatz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Placido Weterio having to interfere. Placido Weterio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fernando Salvadore, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute.

The wind increased when Honorio Asier made the kick off in the second half. Tuizón's Joaquin Romelio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Honorio Asier in the 55th minute of play. A collision led to Tuizón getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Haroldo Ireno hit a great ball. Blas Ikatz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Placido Weterio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fernando Salvadore in the 69th minute of the match. Honorio Asier received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Joaquin Romelio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Fernando Salvadore's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Placido Weterio was relentless in the 73rd minute of the game. In the 80th minute the ball was on its way in behind C.A Independiente's goalkeeper Placido Weterio, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in C.A Independiente's zone, Blas Ikatz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Placido Weterio came out of the goal and Blas Ikatz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 90 minutes into the match, C.A Independiente's goalkeeper Placido Weterio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Blas Ikatz. C.A Independiente's Placido Weterio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernando Salvadore in the 93rd minute of play. Blas Ikatz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Placido Weterio having to make a save. In the 96th minute, Tuizón's Fernando Salvadore dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. The Tuizón players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
