Ceferino Frans, 18 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Celso Cordarrol showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sixto Hever in the 20th minute of the match. In the 22nd minute Sixto Hever shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Celso Cordarrol saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Martilleros's Celso Cordarrol played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gavino Sugoi in the 25th minute of play. Gonzalo Telmo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabian Maura in the 26th minute of play. Celso Cordarrol showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sixto Hever in the 33rd minute of the match. After 34 played minutes Martilleros got a freekick which was hit by Eloy Castulo. Sixto Hever sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 37 minutes into the match, Martilleros's goal looked a bit too open when Gavino Sugoi came free, but Celso Cordarrol reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fabian Maura struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Gonzalo Telmo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Martilleros. Elertondo's Gavino Sugoi got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Aldo Nafarroa in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gonzalo Telmo saved Elertondo from getting behind. If Gavino Sugoi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 65 minutes into the game, Gavino Sugoi recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Celso Cordarrol. Gavino Sugoi showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-1. When Gualterio Edorta came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Elertondo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gualterio Edorta couldn't finish the play. In the 72ndth minute of the game Gavino Sugoi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Martilleros's Celso Cordarrol was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Celso Cordarrol showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gavino Sugoi, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. 76 minutes into the game, Gualterio Edorta was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Elertondo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Martilleros the free kick. In the 76th match minute, Elertondo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gualterio Edorta to maneuver through the defense. 82 minutes into the match, Gavino Sugoi dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Celso Cordarrol, 0-2. Aldo Nafarroa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 98th minute. Gonzalo Telmo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Elertondo had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
