Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Camilo Lawrence got the match started through his kick off. Union Santiago's defense didn't have a chance, in the 5th minute, when Freddy Milian scored to the left of an out of position Vladimiro Mambru, making the score, 1-0. A collision led to Catriel getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Silvano Stanislao hit a great ball. After having played for 12 minutes, Cristian Abajas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Catriel's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Abajas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Freddy Milian fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vladimiro Mambru having to interfere. Vladimiro Mambru showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Freddy Milian in the 17th minute of the match. Fidel Erdiano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Camilo Lawrence, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vladimiro Mambru made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Freddy Milian in the 23rd minute of play. A collision led to Union Santiago getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Adrian Gar hit a great ball. After recieving a nice pass, Catriel's Orlando Dantel tried to score from far away in the 27th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Vladimiro Mambru showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Freddy Milian, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. In the 31st minute Patricio Leobardo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fidel Erdiano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 34th minute, Freddy Milian reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Vladimiro Mambru. The goal made the score 2-0. After 38 played minutes Union Santiago got a freekick which was hit by Julian Mel. Catriel's Orlando Dantel couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 40th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Union Santiago. 47 minutes into the match, Catriel's goal looked a bit too open when Patricio Leobardo came free, but Fidel Erdiano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Freddy Milian was the one to do the kick off. After taking down the ball on Catriel's corner Orlando Dantel fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Vladimiro Mambru quite easily take care of the ball. 57 minutes into the game, Freddy Milian cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Vladimiro Mambru was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Silvano Stanislao during the 59th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Catriel's Silvano Stanislao got a free kick in the 59th minute. If Freddy Milian had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Camilo Lawrence received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Fidel Erdiano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fidel Erdiano was out of position in the 76 minute of play, and Camilo Lawrence capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Camilo Lawrence really showed his touch with that goal: 3-1. Patricio Leobardo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Fidel Erdiano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Catriel's Fidel Erdiano got control of the ball when Patricio Leobardo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Catriel's Fidel Erdiano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Camilo Lawrence in the 95th minute of play. Union Santiago's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
