Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Justino Cayo started the match with the kick off. In the 4th minute Enzo Abella shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jairo Ibañez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jairo Ibañez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Enzo Abella in the 5th minute of play. Jairo Ibañez came out of the goal in the 14th minute to try and stop a shot by Algarrobitos's Guillermo Geleberto. But to his dismay, Guillermo Geleberto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. When Justino Cayo came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the newells fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Justino Cayo couldn't finish the play. Edgardo Endura came free with the goalkeeper in the 23rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Silvano Hitzeder could save by the left post. After a rather tough play, newells's Santo Claus got a free kick in the 28th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Justino Cayo in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Silvano Hitzeder saved Algarrobitos from getting behind. Edgardo Endura fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Silvano Hitzeder having to interfere. Silvano Hitzeder didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Edgardo Endura went, in the 32nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Silvano Hitzeder stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Justino Cayo's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

Algarrobitos's supporters rose to their feet, but Enzo Abella was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post.
