Luciano Bernard tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luis Herena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luciano Bernard took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luis Herena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pinto AFC's Virgilio Petri shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 17th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Luciano Bernard but with some difficulty. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Patricio Orzaize managed to get in a good position for a shot. Schalke 04's supporters rose to their feet, but Patricio Orzaize was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Robustiano Ramirez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Simon Valentine had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pinto AFC's Robustiano Ramirez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patricio Orzaize in the 46th minute of play. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Luis Herena made a kick off. German Acevedo was shown his second yellow card after 53 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 54th minute, German Acevedo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 58 played minutes, Pinto AFC's Eriberto Jax shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Luciano Bernard came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Pinto AFC reached it. Luciano Bernard showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Segundo Sauveur, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. The supporters of Pinto AFC booed when Schalke 04 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patricio Orzaize didn't get a good kick on the ball.
