Luciano Mancio started the match with the kick off. Severino Macias showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luciano Mancio, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. Luciano Mancio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Severino Macias tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fidel Quilo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Severino Macias having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fidel Quilo in the 13th minute of play forced R.D. Herreria's goalkeeper Severino Macias to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Independencia's zone, Evaristo Celino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wilfredo Haritz came out of the goal and Evaristo Celino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Serafino Sustrai got free with Wilfredo Haritz in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Fidel Quilo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Independencia's Wilfredo Haritz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save Independencia from getting a goal against them. When the match had gone on for 29 minutes, Fidel Quilo put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Severino Macias. When Gervasio Eufemio fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored R.D. Herreria's protests and gave Gervasio Eufemio a yellow card for diving instead. Gervasio Eufemio kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. Severino Macias took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luciano Mancio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The R.D. Herreria players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Independencia were winning 0-1.

Severino Macias made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fidel Quilo in the 52nd minute. Severino Macias showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luciano Mancio in the 55th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Independencia's Virgilio Ramos got a free kick in the 56th minute. After 60 minutes of play, R.D. Herreria's Evaristo Celino made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Wilfredo Haritz was left in no man's land by his defense there! Herreria was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gervasio Eufemio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Severino Macias came out of the goal in the 67th minute to try and stop a shot by Independencia's Fidel Quilo. But to his dismay, Fidel Quilo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. R.D. Herreria's Severino Macias proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save R.D. Herreria from getting a goal against them. If Serafino Sustrai had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Evaristo Celino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. A hard shot 91 in the game by Fidel Quilo from a close distance when the talented Severino Macias managed to make a qualified save. R.D. Herreria's players were relieved. If Fidel Quilo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Independencia played a much better game than R.D. Herreria and deserved their victory. The R.D. Herreria players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
