Eusebio Benino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fernan Fidele, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. In the 28th minute Fernan Fidele shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eusebio Benino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Simon George might have been able to make a better finish in the 29th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Maximiliano Jerrold. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Simon George ran back to his position shaking his head. Fernan Fidele received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Eusebio Benino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Silvano Marko sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eusebio Benino came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by Merced FC's Fernan Fidele. But to his dismay, Fernan Fidele quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Eusebio Benino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Silvano Marko in the 42nd minute of play. If Saturnino Abella had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Saturnino Abella to strike the kick off in the second half. Eusebio Benino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Silvano Marko in the 54th minute of play. Eusebio Benino made a fantastic save in the 55th minute, when Fernan Fidele sent off a good shot on target. In the 85th minute the ball was on its way in behind Merced FC's goalkeeper Maximiliano Jerrold, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Maguire's Eusebio Benino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silvano Marko in the 90th minute of play. Silvano Marko received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Eusebio Benino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Maximiliano Jerrold showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Simon George, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. The Merced FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Merced FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
