When Jorge Buinton came up free with the goalie in the 5th minute, the Elena AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jorge Buinton couldn't finish the play. Conrado Johans made an important save on a dangerous shot by Candido Urti in the 8th minute. When Florencio Ellande fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Elena AFC's protests and gave Florencio Ellande a yellow card for diving instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Elena AFC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 10th minute. Penalty! Candido Urti received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Conrado Johans tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 19 minutes into the match, Elena AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Lorenzo Chico came free, but Conrado Johans reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Generoso Rodas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Honorio Turi in the 20th minute of play. Eugenio Urdin blasted a shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Generoso Rodas having to make a save. If Honorio Turi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 25th match minute, Elena AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Julio Ferrer to maneuver through the defense. Honorio Turi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Generoso Rodas having to interfere. In the 67th match minute, BARCELONA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rene Haimar to maneuver through the defense. A wasted opportunity for BARCELONA. 82 minutes into the match, Elena AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Candido Urti came free, but Conrado Johans reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Elena AFC's zone, Lorenzo Chico stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Conrado Johans came out of the goal and Lorenzo Chico tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 90th minute Lorenzo Chico shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Conrado Johans saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 92 minutes into the game, Eugenio Urdin recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Generoso Rodas. Eugenio Urdin showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-2. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
