Severiano Gaitano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cipriano Meder made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pablo Iztal in the 17th minute of play. If Pablo Iztal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Christian Azubeli kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pablo Iztal in the 56th minute of play forced Protestante's goalkeeper Cipriano Meder to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Protestante's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
