Jairo Argenis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Pascual Osoro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Clodoveo Arano made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pastor Aimar in the 29th minute. During the 32nd minute of the match Elvio Frederik completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Elvio Frederik a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Elvio Frederik kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. When David Solustiano, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 34 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Pascual Osoro was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. 37 minutes into the match, Escobar's goal looked a bit too open when David Solustiano came free, but Pascual Osoro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. David Solustiano scored 0-1 in the 47th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Pascual Osoro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When Esteve Cordarryl fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Escobar's protests and gave Esteve Cordarryl a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Escobar's Esteve Cordarryl got a free kick in the 54th minute. If David Solustiano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 61st minute, Ricardo Errolan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pastor Aimar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Clodoveo Arano having to interfere. In the 71st minute, Pastor Aimar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 72 played minutes Echegoyen AFC got a freekick which was hit by Ignacio Abajas. Clodoveo Arano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pastor Aimar, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Enrique Rufo during the 76th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Enrique Rufo hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. After having played for 77 minutes, Teo Bikendi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Echegoyen AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Teo Bikendi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The long shot by Teo Bikendi in the 80th minute really tested Pascual Osoro's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Echegoyen AFC's Clodoveo Arano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pastor Aimar in the 90th minute of play. Clodoveo Arano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pastor Aimar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Echegoyen AFC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
