Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Varela were furious when Ruperto Vela was red carded, 3 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. 2 minutes into the game, one of Varela:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Carolo Iraido took the ball and in the 5 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gualterio Naldo. Gualterio Naldo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. If Hugo Soter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 10th minute, Arsenio Burni fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Gualterio Naldo, passed just outside the right post. In the 19thth minute of the game Arsenio Burni who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Varela's Gualterio Naldo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hugo Soter in the 21st minute of play forced Ongamira AFC's goalkeeper Ciriaco Txema to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 22 minutes into the match, Hugo Soter had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ciriaco Txema. Ongamira AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hugo Soter was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Arsenio Burni in the 32ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Gualterio Naldo, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. When Zeledon Petri fell near the penalty area in the 35th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Varela's protests and gave Zeledon Petri a yellow card for diving instead. In the 35th match minute, Varela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zeledon Petri to maneuver through the defense. Arsenio Burni received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Gualterio Naldo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Varela getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Abel Rubio hit a great ball. In the 45th minute, Benicio Tino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Arsenio Burni recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Arsenio Burni stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Arsenio Burni managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ongamira AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Arsenio Burni was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gualterio Naldo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 55 minutes into the match, Ongamira AFC's goalkeeper Ciriaco Txema had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hugo Soter. Arsenio Burni recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 62nd minute, one of Varela:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Varela. Gualterio Naldo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicolas Lopez in the 72nd minute of play. Nicolas Lopez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Gualterio Naldo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hugo Soter fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ciriaco Txema having to interfere. Epifanio Abel's late challenge caught a Varela's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Epifanio Abel helped the player get up and apologised. Epifanio Abel hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. When Ongamira AFC's Arsenio Burni in the 86th minute got a chance for a shot 86th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Varela's goalie prevented a goal. Hugo Soter fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ciriaco Txema having to interfere. Hugo Soter sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nicolas Lopez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Nicolas Lopez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Varela's Gualterio Naldo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arsenio Burni in the 99th minute of play. Ongamira AFC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
