To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 25th minute of the match Genaro Pacorro sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Albano Jerardo skillfully saved the ball. If Lisandro Kepa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Albano Jerardo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Atilano Blasi in the 29th minute of the match. If Bruno Ramos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 32 minutes into the match, CA Saint Laurence's goalkeeper Eustaquio Belo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Narciso Bernat. Colombres's Enrique Ermano got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bruno Ramos in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Eustaquio Belo saved CA Saint Laurence from getting behind. The audience was convinced that Lisandro Kepa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Albano Jerardo was relentless in the 42nd minute of the game. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Atilano Blasi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. CA Saint Laurence's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
