Venancio Calisto who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 7thth minute tested the skills of Aristides Xabel when he managed to save the team from getting behind. A hard shot 8 in the game by Venancio Calisto from a close distance when the talented Aristides Xabel managed to make a qualified save. Tacuaral's players were relieved. In the 9th minute, Maximo Errolan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Zavalla AFC fans' excitement grew in the 10th match minute when Zavalla AFC's Eugenio Dino looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. If Eugenio Dino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Eugenio Dino came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Zavalla AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eugenio Dino couldn't finish the play. Lorenzo Quintana showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ovidio Monte in the 25th minute of the match. Lorenzo Quintana took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anibal Artizar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Anibal Artizar's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lorenzo Quintana read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. Genaro Sabino recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 49th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Eugenio Dino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 61 minutes, Venancio Calisto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Zavalla AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Venancio Calisto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 63rd match minute, Zavalla AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Venancio Calisto to maneuver through the defense. In the 68th minute Eugenio Dino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aristides Xabel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Tacuaral's Adan Santiago got a free kick in the 75th minute. Aristides Xabel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eugenio Dino in the 77th minute of play. When Venancio Calisto came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Zavalla AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Venancio Calisto couldn't finish the play. Aristides Xabel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eugenio Dino in the 91st minute of play. In the 92nd minute Genaro Sabino suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. Gilberto Canor's late challenge caught a Tacuaral's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gilberto Canor helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Tacuaral booed when Zavalla AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gilberto Canor didn't get a good kick on the ball. Maximo Errolan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Lorenzo Quintana tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aristides Xabel didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Venancio Calisto went, in the 98th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Zavalla AFC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
