The audience was convinced that Evelio Jacob's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Etxatxu was relentless in the 4th minute of the game. Julio Etxatxu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Evelio Jacob in the 12th minute of play. 16 minutes into the match, Manantial's goalkeeper Evelio Patrido had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Israel Orti. In the 18th minute, Damaso Ferrer left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Manantial fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After 22 played minutes Manantial got a freekick which was hit by Fabian Laurentzi. Evelio Patrido took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Albino Gaskon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Martínez AFC's Julio Etxatxu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Evelio Jacob in the 26th minute of play. Angelo Domiku charged in rather forcefully in the 34th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Angelo Domiku the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 47th minute Evelio Jacob shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Etxatxu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Albino Gaskon to make the kick off. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Israel Orti couldn't finish the play. Evelio Jacob received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Julio Etxatxu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Evelio Jacob came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Manantial fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Evelio Jacob couldn't finish the play. Julio Etxatxu was out of position in the 94 minute of play, and Evelio Jacob capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Evelio Jacob really showed his touch with that goal: 0-2. When the final whistle sounded Manantial left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Martínez AFC.
