Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Gustavo Servando got the match started through his kick off. In the 5thth minute of the game Celso Breogan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but River Plate's Honorio Barto was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Emanuel Oskarbi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bonifacio Menendo having to interfere. Emanuel Oskarbi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Bonifacio Menendo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gustavo Servando recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 35th minute, Emanuel Oskarbi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in River Plate's zone, Celso Breogan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Honorio Barto came out of the goal and Celso Breogan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Celedonio Frederico hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Bonifacio Menendo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Emanuel Oskarbi in the 47th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Celso Breogan to make the kick off. River Plate's Honorio Barto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Celso Breogan in the 53rd minute of play. 56 minutes into the match, Virginia FC's Celso Breogan sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Honorio Barto narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Fernando Fernado could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Honorio Barto made a huge save. Bonifacio Menendo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gustavo Servando's shot from short distance in the 60th minute. 64 minutes into the match, River Plate's Emanuel Oskarbi sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bonifacio Menendo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Emanuel Oskarbi might have been able to make a better finish in the 67th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bonifacio Menendo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Emanuel Oskarbi ran back to his position shaking his head. Bonifacio Menendo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gustavo Servando, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Gustavo Servando came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the River Plate fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gustavo Servando couldn't finish the play. Bonifacio Menendo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gustavo Servando, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. If Celso Breogan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 87 minutes, Gustavo Servando managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. River Plate's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gustavo Servando was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 93 played minutes River Plate got a freekick which was hit by Ernesto Lizar. After 95 minutes River Plate's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gerardo Pueblo who took care of the corner kick. Virginia FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
