Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alvaro Rosario in the 2nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Elpidio Eyague prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Alvaro Rosario received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Elpidio Eyague tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 13th minute Alvaro Rosario shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elpidio Eyague saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alvaro Rosario recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Alvaro Rosario's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Elpidio Eyague was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. Evelio Loiola recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Evelio Loiola in the 24th minute of play forced Covello AFC's goalkeeper Elpidio Eyague to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Evelio Loiola sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 29 minutes into the match, Covello AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Evelio Loiola came free, but Elpidio Eyague reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Evelio Loiola in the 36th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Elpidio Eyague saved Covello AFC from getting behind. If Alvaro Rosario had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 39 minutes into the game, Evelio Loiola was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mailín's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Covello AFC the free kick. A collision led to Mailín getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Evelio Loiola hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Covello AFC's zone, Alvaro Rosario stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elpidio Eyague came out of the goal and Alvaro Rosario tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Bonifacio Hanni struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Bruno Alfonso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Covello AFC. Maximiliano Azubeli sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 57 minutes, Alvaro Rosario managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mailín's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alvaro Rosario was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 59 minutes in the game, Alvaro Rosario fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Elpidio Eyague having to interfere. Alvaro Rosario received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. In the 69th minute the ball was on its way in behind Covello AFC's goalkeeper Elpidio Eyague, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 75 minutes into the match, Covello AFC's goalkeeper Elpidio Eyague had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Evelio Loiola. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alvaro Rosario in the 80th minute of play forced Covello AFC's goalkeeper Elpidio Eyague to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Elpidio Eyague came out of the goal and Alvaro Rosario tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Covello AFC's Elpidio Eyague played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alvaro Rosario in the 95th minute of play. When the match was over Mailín could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Covello AFC throughout the match.
