Cristobal Elia charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Concepción's Maximo Etor played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fidel Gabon in the 21st minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Concepción's zone, Fidel Gabon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Maximo Etor came out of the goal and Fidel Gabon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Elias Ulizes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Angelino Olayo in the 23rd minute of play. If Angelino Olayo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 26th minute, Mariano Rocendo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Maximo Etor made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sixto Orlondon in the 38th minute. Elias Ulizes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cleto Pello in the 40th minute of the match. Cleto Pello's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Elias Ulizes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. In the 48th minute, Cleto Pello made a precise shot to the right of Elias Ulizes. Correntoso's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cleto Pello made a kick off. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Angelino Olayo couldn't finish the play. After 66 minutes, Mariano Rocendo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Concepción and the Correntoso players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Correntoso booed when Concepción was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mariano Rocendo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 67 played minutes, Correntoso's Paulo Mikeldi shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Maximo Etor came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Correntoso reached it. Elias Ulizes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Angelino Olayo in the 73rd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Cleto Pello managed to get in a good position for a shot. Concepción's supporters rose to their feet, but Cleto Pello was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Elias Ulizes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 83 minutes into the match, Fidel Gabon had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Maximo Etor. The Correntoso fans cheered their team off the field, for while Concepción had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
