Fernando Acuña made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Delmiro Donio in the 21st minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Calchaquí FC's zone, Delmiro Donio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fernando Acuña came out of the goal and Delmiro Donio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Delmiro Donio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernando Acuña having to interfere. After 31 minutes, Haroldo Oalo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tortugas AFC and the Calchaquí FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Natalio Igon hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Calchaquí FC's Fernando Acuña played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Delmiro Donio in the 41st minute of play. Alejandro Lalla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernando Acuña having to interfere. Efrain Libertad hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match.

Natalio Igon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernando Argina having to interfere. Bruno Asteri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 58 played minutes, Calchaquí FC's Dalmacio Ayala shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Fernando Argina came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Calchaquí FC reached it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Delmiro Donio in the 65th minute of play forced Calchaquí FC's goalkeeper Fernando Acuña to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Calchaquí FC's Bruno Asteri got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Natalio Igon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 71 played minutes Tortugas AFC got a freekick which was hit by Haroldo Oalo. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bruno Asteri in the 72nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fernando Argina prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Alejandro Lalla came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Tortugas AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alejandro Lalla couldn't finish the play. Natalio Igon in the 79thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Fernando Argina, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Bruno Asteri recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Tortugas AFC's Amancio Elizardo got a free kick in the 87th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Natalio Igon managed to get in a good position for a shot. Calchaquí FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Natalio Igon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fernando Argina breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Fernando Argina made a fantastic save in the 96th minute, when Natalio Igon sent off a good shot on target. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
