Gerardo Tercero charged in rather forcefully in the 2nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gerardo Tercero the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 6th minute, Teofilo Policarpio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Maco AFC's zone, Jonathan Lucero stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ladislao Eneas came out of the goal and Jonathan Lucero tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 9th minute the ball was on its way in behind Maco AFC's goalkeeper Ladislao Eneas, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 0-1 became the score in the 11th minute when Cleto Franco elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. After 16 minutes of play, Carapaligüe's Jonathan Lucero made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ladislao Eneas was left in no man's land by his defense there! Carapaligüe's Isidro Pere played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Saul Mendez in the 23rd minute of play. Saul Mendez was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 30th minute. Maco AFC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. 31 minutes into the match, Carapaligüe's goalkeeper Isidro Pere had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Emanuel Theobald. Isidro Pere showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Saul Mendez in the 33rd minute of the match. A hard shot by Zeledon Mancio from long distance, 39 minutes into the match, got Isidro Pere's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Jonathan Lucero received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Ladislao Eneas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cleto Franco was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, Carapaligüe's Amado Matthew got a free kick in the 51st minute. Aurelio Lauaxeta's late challenge caught a Maco AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Aurelio Lauaxeta helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Maco AFC getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Narciso Celio hit a great ball. 73 minutes into the game, Cleto Franco recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ladislao Eneas. Cleto Franco showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-3. Cleto Franco blasted a shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ladislao Eneas having to make a save. When Emanuel Theobald came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Maco AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emanuel Theobald couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Saul Mendez in the 82nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Isidro Pere prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Emanuel Theobald had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Saul Mendez might have been able to make a better finish in the 89th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Isidro Pere. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Saul Mendez ran back to his position shaking his head. When Saul Mendez came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Maco AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Saul Mendez couldn't finish the play. The Carapaligüe players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
