Genaro Gonsalve's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 6thth minute, Ladislao Iaki skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emilio Belasko in the 9th minute of play forced Fernetico FC's goalkeeper Cesar Torres to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 13 minutes into the match, Esteban Perez notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Fernetico FC's Cesar Torres. Cesar Torres was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 18 minutes of play, Rivas's Emilio Belasko made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cesar Torres was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, Rivas's Samuel Ferrando got a free kick in the 21st minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Isidoro Inautzi during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Rivas getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Isidoro Inautzi hit a great ball. Cesar Torres made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emilio Belasko in the 27th minute of play. In the 33rd minute, Esteban Perez ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cesar Torres was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. In the 39th minute Emilio Belasko shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cesar Torres saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fernetico FC's Cesar Torres played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Esteban Perez in the 41st minute of play. Ruben Bembe blasted a shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ladislao Iaki having to make a save. The Fernetico FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Rivas were winning 0-3.

When Emilio Belasko fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rivas's protests and gave Emilio Belasko a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Rivas getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Emilio Belasko hit a great ball. Ruben Bembe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ladislao Iaki made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ruben Bembe in the 70th minute of play. In the 72nd minute, Genaro Gonsalve got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cesar Torres tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Esteban Perez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 97 minutes into the match, Rivas's goal looked a bit too open when Ruben Bembe came free, but Ladislao Iaki reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Rivas had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
