Papagayos AFC's Reynaldo Thomas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Severino Barbosa in the 5th minute of play. Omar Ramond received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Ariel Donio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Papagayos AFC getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Cesar Pudes hit a great ball. In the 12th minute of the match, Severino Barbosa tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Reynaldo Thomas saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The supporters of Papagayos AFC booed when Arauca AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eleuterio Odol didn't get a good kick on the ball. Niceto Gombal's late challenge caught a Arauca AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Niceto Gombal helped the player get up and apologised. 22 minutes into the game, one of Papagayos AFC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The goalkeeper, Reynaldo Thomas, was totally fooled by Arauca AFC's Ivan Abar, who 24 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Leonides Cedro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ariel Donio having to interfere. Ariel Donio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Omar Ramond, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. After 32 played minutes Arauca AFC got a freekick which was hit by Silverio Txerran. After a rather tough play, Arauca AFC's Eleuterio Odol got a free kick in the 35th minute. In the 35th minute of the match Gervasio Firmo sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ariel Donio skillfully saved the ball. In the 45th minute, Edgardo Caradaro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Arauca AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Edgardo Caradaro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Arauca AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Edgardo Caradaro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Reynaldo Thomas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Leonides Cedro hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Ariel Donio was a little too slow when Leonides Cedro got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 58th minute. The score was now 2-1. Omar Ramond received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Ariel Donio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 63rdth minute of the game Leonides Cedro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Arauca AFC's Ariel Donio was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to Arauca AFC getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Eleuterio Odol hit a great ball. In the 66th minute, Gervasio Firmo sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Arauca AFC's Ariel Donio didn't even have to move. After 67 played minutes Arauca AFC got a freekick which was hit by Ivan Abar. Papagayos AFC's Omar Ramond got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Leonides Cedro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ariel Donio having to interfere. 76 minutes had been played when some careless play by Arauca AFC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gervasio Firmo was slow to take the kick. During this time Papagayos AFC's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Denis Isusko almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Arauca AFC's Ariel Donio did a great save. Reynaldo Thomas stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Severino Barbosa's shot from short distance in the 82nd minute. In the 87th minute Edgardo Caradaro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reynaldo Thomas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ricardo Madaleno kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. When Edgardo Caradaro fell near the penalty area in the 93rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Arauca AFC's protests and gave Edgardo Caradaro a yellow card for diving instead. The Arauca AFC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Papagayos AFC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
