An unexpectedly hard shot by Baldomiro Porfirio in the 10th minute of play forced Barreal's goalkeeper Lucio Galtero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Albino Honesto hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Baldomiro Porfirio in the 12th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lucio Galtero saved Barreal from getting behind. If Robustiano Pedroso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Godofredo Montay received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Cornelio Nisio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Chimborazo's Cornelio Nisio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Robustiano Pedroso in the 24th minute of play. Cornelio Nisio made a fantastic save in the 27th minute, when Godofredo Montay sent off a good shot on target. In the 29th minute Celestino Dubardo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lucio Galtero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lucio Galtero showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Celestino Dubardo in the 36th minute of the match. After having played for 42 minutes, Robustiano Pedroso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Barreal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Robustiano Pedroso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Edelmiro Gutierrez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The wind increased when Celestino Dubardo made the kick off in the second half. Baldomiro Porfirio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Lucio Galtero took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Celestino Dubardo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
