Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Zeledon Mel's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Modesto Sanson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 33rd minute of play. Rene Kusko showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Haroldo Bras, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. After a rather tough play, Independiente's Aaron Haitz got a free kick in the 40th minute. If Zeledon Mel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Modesto Sanson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zeledon Mel, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Ezequiel Tiso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Modesto Sanson having to interfere. Ezequiel Tiso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 82 minutes, Ezequiel Tiso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Salto's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ezequiel Tiso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Aaron Haitz during the 83rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. If Zeledon Mel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Salto were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
