Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Luis Aritza kicked off to start the match. Edgardo Gai's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Diego Fernendo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 3rd minute of play. If Arturo Intxixu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alumbrera's Diego Fernendo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgardo Gai in the 9th minute of play. In the 15th minute, Arturo Intxixu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 16th minute, Octavio Txanton hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 17th minute of the match Eustacio Danel sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Diego Fernendo skillfully saved the ball. Luis Aritza charged in rather forcefully in the 21st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Luis Aritza the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 21st match minute, Alumbrera was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luis Aritza to maneuver through the defense. In the 31st minute Arturo Intxixu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diego Fernendo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Diego Fernendo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arturo Intxixu, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Alumbrera's Diego Fernendo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arturo Intxixu in the 36th minute of play. Ariel Jacob took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Octavio Txanton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Edgardo Gai came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Lanús fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edgardo Gai couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Lanús's zone, Octavio Txanton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ariel Jacob came out of the goal and Octavio Txanton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Arturo Intxixu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Diego Fernendo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Arturo Intxixu to strike the kick off in the second half. After 53 minutes of play Alumbrera's Octavio Txanton was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 53rd match minute, Alumbrera was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Octavio Txanton to maneuver through the defense. In the 57th minute, Amadeo Gaueko hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 60th minute, Arturo Intxixu fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgardo Gai in the 60th minute of play forced Alumbrera's goalkeeper Diego Fernendo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Edgardo Gai had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edgardo Gai fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diego Fernendo having to interfere. Alumbrera's Luis Aritza got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Diego Fernendo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arturo Intxixu, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. In the 95th minute of the match, Edgardo Gai got a very nice opportunity to score, but Diego Fernendo was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Diego Fernendo made a fantastic save in the 96th minute, when Edgardo Gai sent off a good shot on target.
