The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute, Fabian Baraquiel left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Los Pibes de Elia fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. If Lucio Cucao had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nicanor Toribio hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. Fabian Baraquiel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Victor Gora having to interfere. A collision led to Guernica AFC getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Carmelo Savion hit a great ball. In the 20th minute of the match Emiliano Saturnin shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Victor Gora showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When Los Pibes de Elia's Vinicio Criston in the 22nd minute got a chance for a shot 22nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Guernica AFC's goalie prevented a goal. Victor Gora showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabian Baraquiel in the 24th minute of the match. After 26 played minutes Los Pibes de Elia got a freekick which was hit by Reynaldo Froila. 28 minutes into the match, Los Pibes de Elia's goal looked a bit too open when Silvano Montrell came free, but Dario Barto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Lucio Cucao managed to get in a good position for a shot. Guernica AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Lucio Cucao was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dario Barto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Los Pibes de Elia getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Emiliano Saturnin hit a great ball. 38 minutes into the match, Guernica AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Fabian Baraquiel came free, but Victor Gora reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dario Barto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Silvano Montrell, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. With his leg Dario Barto managed to avoid a goal in the 44thth minute, when Guernica AFC's Lucio Cucao fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After a rather tough play, Los Pibes de Elia's Lorenzo Atauri got a free kick in the 48th minute.

The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Godfredo Raitin during the 53rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 53rd match minute, Los Pibes de Elia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Godfredo Raitin to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Los Pibes de Elia's zone, Lucio Cucao stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dario Barto came out of the goal and Lucio Cucao tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Silvano Montrell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Guernica AFC booed when Los Pibes de Elia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Reynaldo Froila didn't get a good kick on the ball. 84 minutes into the match, Guernica AFC's goalkeeper Victor Gora had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nicanor Toribio. Silvano Montrell struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Dario Barto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Guernica AFC. Fabian Baraquiel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Victor Gora tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 94th minute, Nicanor Toribio ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Victor Gora was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Los Pibes de Elia walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
