The referee ignored Whitense's protests and gave Alvaro Ekain a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Whitense getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Alvaro Ekain hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Antonio Leguizamón's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Omar Milio was relentless in the 6th minute of the game. Serafino Txordon was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 12 minutes into the match. In the 14th minute there was a penalty for Whitense. Joel Vincente showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wilfredo Pepillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Joel Vincente took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Danilo Romero, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 28 minutes, Melchor Tonio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Palmarcito and the Whitense players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Palmarcito's Melchor Tonio got a free kick in the 28th minute. In the 36th play minute Melchor Tonio came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Omar Milio. 1-1. With a little luck, Whitense's Omar Milio got control of the ball when Melchor Tonio tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Prudencio Gaueko during the 43rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Palmarcito getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Prudencio Gaueko hit a great ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Danilo Romero was the one to do the kick off. Danilo Romero's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Joel Vincente read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 56th minute of play. Joel Vincente yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-3. 92 minutes into the match, Palmarcito's goal looked a bit too open when Danilo Romero came free, but Joel Vincente reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wilfredo Pepillo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Whitense's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
