After having played for 2 minutes, Braulio Franco managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tacañitas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Braulio Franco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Braulio Franco struck a weak shot in the 7th minute. Fabio Artal didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tacañitas. Elias Rodas made a fantastic save in the 12th minute, when Melquiades Bertin sent off a good shot on target. Leonardo Salvadore received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Fabio Artal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jesus Haimar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jesus Haimar hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. If Melquiades Bertin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Esteban Tibalt charged in rather forcefully in the 34th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Esteban Tibalt the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Tacañitas booed when Durazno was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Esteban Tibalt didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 36 played minutes, Tacañitas's Igor Ubendu shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Fabio Artal came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Tacañitas reached it. Tacañitas's Elias Rodas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gervasio Goiz in the 37th minute of play. Fabio Artal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leonardo Salvadore, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Braulio Franco to strike the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Durazno's zone, Braulio Franco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fabio Artal came out of the goal and Braulio Franco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Fabio Artal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Braulio Franco, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. In the 59th minute the ball was on its way in behind Tacañitas's goalkeeper Elias Rodas, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 66 minutes into the match, Durazno's goal looked a bit too open when Braulio Franco came free, but Fabio Artal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Abelardo Artaldo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Abelardo Artaldo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Melquiades Bertin blasted a shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Elias Rodas having to make a save. Gervasio Goiz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elias Rodas having to interfere. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
